The Letaba Flying Club once again hosted the Tzaneen Bushpilots Airshow on 26 June 2004 with great success.  This airshow is now running for the seventh consecutive year and will probably be rated one of the top in the country. Pilots from all parts of South Africa flew in to see this airshow as spectators.  We have had more than 120 aircraft flying in.  Some of them camped under the wings, whilst others preferred to stay over in one of the many magnificent guest houses.

The airshow was a two day event with the show being held on the Saturday, although most participants arrived on the Friday to practice their routines.  On the Friday we had the Siyandiza program in which the SAAF entertained the school kids, telling them more about the opportunities in the SAAF and treating them to a flying display by two very competent lady Oryx pilots.

Our program was filled with real adrenalin with full SAAF participation.  They came with the Oryx, a Cheetah, Impalas, the Casa and of course the Silver Falcons.  Besides the SAAF other participating aircraft were the M101T Expedition which gave an awesome display, the Robinson R22 helicopter doing stuff I could never imagine.  The little Tecnam also amazed the spectators, as did the Sasol L29 Tigers and the Pitts teams.  Other breathtaking displays were flown by the Monster Pitts, the Albatros, the Nissan Harvards, the Boeing Stearman, the Mazda Zlin, a Chipmunk, the Dornier 27, the Police's Pilatus Porter and of course the Recce Parachutists.

Besides the airshow on Saturday we also had a variety of stalls at the show ranging from food and drink to aviation related products.  Most of the stalls were booked and most of the stall owners were very happy with their turnovers. The beer garden, which included live entertainment was extremely popular amongst the spectators and continued well into the morning.
